We are about to launch a brand new whisky and would like some assistance picking the product name. The winner will receive the first ever bottle we produce of this exclusive whisky
Background of the Whisky:
- This whisky was distilled and blended in 1999 in Scotland, in 2002 it was then shipped to Sanchez Romate in Jerez, Spain
- Once in Spain the whisky was racked into Olorosso (Sherry Butts) and left for nine years (this is a 12 year old Whisky)
- We will produce 1500x6pack cases and this batch is unique and irreplaceable
- The whisky smells distinctly of chocolate, raisins, cream soda and oranges
- The name of the whisky should begin with Sheep Dips __________
So please get your thinking caps on and you could be in with a chance to win an exclusive and limited edition whisky.
All comments/ideas to be posted below or emailed to email@example.com
We will give you the weekend to think about it and take all ideas in on Monday. Good Luck!

This week has been a busy week and we have a undertaken another cocktail competition in association with the Scottish Society of Professional Bartenders.
Barman Bruce Hamilton from Ondine in Edinburgh has been crowned the winner of Edinburgh Gins new cocktail competition hosted in association with the Scottish Society of Professional Bartenders.
The competition put the citys talent to the test with entries from all over Edinburgh. Bruce Hamilton impressed the judges with his excellent recipe and triumphed over competition from Edinburghs leading bartenders with his Edinburgh Gin Edinburgh Citrusity cocktail
The winning drink was a refreshing mix of Gin, Aperol, Orange Juice, and Vermouth and will be seen in the Skinny magazines Cocktail column next month. The winner received a case of Edinburgh Gin and a bottle of Sheep Dips Old Hebridean 1990 Whisky. The runner up was Roddy Short from the Balmoral Hotel with his Edinburghs Orchard cocktail.
Judges were Martin Duffy, secretary of the Association of Scottish Bartenders, Hattie Nicol and Bruce Borthwick both from Spencerfield Spirit. They all had a great time

As usual it is incredibly hectic here at Spencerfield lots of summer events, orders and work to be getting on with. Last week we sponsored Fest magazines 10th Anniversary Festival party at the Electric Circus club in Edinburgh. Hattie and I went along to give out 3 hours of free Edinburgh Gin cocktails which went down really well! We served up two cocktails A classic Edinburgh Gin and Fentimans Tonics with a stick of Lemongrass and a Edinburgh Gin and Fentimans Rose Lemonade with fresh strawberry. There was some brilliant cabaret acts on and the club was full of the great and good of Edinburgh. It was a brilliant evening and we were really pleased to be a part of it. See below for some pictures. No slides are available.

It’s been a hectic few weeks here at Spencerfield with lots of summer shows and events keeping us all very busy. In the last few weeks we have been to Hopetoun Horse Trials, Turriff Show, Cartmel Show, the CLA Game Fayre and the East of England Show. Its great to get out on the road and meet all our lovely customers. Here is a pic of our stand (and the lovely Hattie!) at Hopetoun Horse Trials last week.
In other news we have received a further two awards for our Edinburgh Gin - The International Wine & Spirits Competition honoured us with a brilliant Silver Award.
And here is a picture of the actual certificate!
Furthermore The Guild of Fine Food awarded Edinburgh Gin an impressive two Gold Stars.
August is a great month (hopefully) good weather and of course the Edinburgh Festival. We are looking forward to some great events during the Edinburgh Festival; watch this space for some more information.

Sheep Dip ‘Old Hebridean’ 1990 has been awarded a near perfect 94 points in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 2011 :
‘”Nose: every aspect has the buoyancy of an anchor, the subtlety of Hebridean winter winds. Thick peat offering both smoke and a kippery saltness is embraced by honey; Taste: big, weighty delivery with an immediate spice and honey delivery; a butterscotch barley theme appears and vanishes like a small fishing craft in mountainous waves; Finish: that honey keeps the pace and length while a beautiful red liquorice beefs up the vanilla; Overall balance and complexity: you honey!! Now, that’s what I call a whisky!!!”

On Sunday 13th February 2011 the first Edinburgh Gin Cocktail competition was held at The HydeOut bar, Edinburgh http://www.facebook.com/update_security_info.php?wizard=1#!/HydeOutEdin. Competing mixologists were set the challenge of creating an Edinburgh Gin based cocktail. Judges Iain McPherson (The Voodoo Rooms), Martin Duffy (56 North) and Ed Baird (Emporia Brands) selected Dean Evans creation, the Midgie Bite, as the winner. We were really pleased with how the competition turned out. Having received a lot of positive feedback from competitors, judges and spectators, we hope to hold more EG cocktail competitions in future . . . so keep your eyes open!No slides are available.
